Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 13 March 2025
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules and restrictions that apply to your use of the PersonaQA platform and services. This AUP forms part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
1. Purpose
PersonaQA provides AI-powered website testing that simulates real user behaviour. Our Service automates browser sessions against URLs you specify, which means it interacts with live web infrastructure. This policy exists to ensure the Service is used responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with applicable laws.
2. Authorised Testing Only
You may only use PersonaQA to test websites that you:
- Own — you are the registered owner or operator of the domain.
- Have explicit written permission to test — for example, you are a contracted agency, consultant, or partner with documented authorisation from the site owner.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to run automated tests against every URL you submit. PersonaQA is not liable for any consequences arising from unauthorised testing.
Important: Running automated tests against websites without authorisation may violate computer misuse laws (such as the UK Computer Misuse Act 1990, the US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, or equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction). You bear full responsibility for compliance.
3. Prohibited Uses
You must not use PersonaQA to:
3.1 Attack or Disrupt
- Conduct denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks or load testing that could degrade or disable a target website.
- Exploit vulnerabilities, gain unauthorised access, or attempt to compromise the security of any system.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable burden on PersonaQA’s infrastructure or other users’ use of the Service.
3.2 Harvest or Scrape Data
- Systematically extract, collect, or aggregate personal data, proprietary content, or intellectual property from third-party websites.
- Use the Service as a general-purpose web scraper, data-mining tool, or content-extraction engine.
- Collect personal information (such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers) from websites in violation of applicable privacy or data-protection laws.
3.3 Illegal or Harmful Content
- Submit URLs that host, distribute, or link to illegal content, including but not limited to: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), malware, phishing pages, or content that promotes terrorism or violence.
- Use the Service in connection with any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.
3.4 Circumvent Controls
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent usage quotas, rate limits, authentication mechanisms, or other security controls.
- Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, abuse free-tier quotas, or manipulate access-code systems.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or prompts used by the Service.
3.5 Redistribute or Resell
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the Service or its output without our prior written consent.
- Offer the Service (or a derivative of it) as part of a competing product or service.
- Share Account credentials with third parties or allow others to access the Service through your Account without authorisation.
3.6 Abuse AI Systems
- Attempt to manipulate, poison, or adversely influence the AI models used by the Service.
- Use the Service to generate misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content about third parties.
- Deliberately submit prompts or configurations designed to cause the AI to produce harmful, illegal, or abusive output.
4. Rate Limits & Fair Use
Your subscription Plan includes defined usage quotas. In addition to Plan-specific limits, we may apply reasonable rate limits to ensure fair access and protect our infrastructure. These include:
- Maximum concurrent test runs.
- Requests per minute to target websites.
- Total pages crawled per run or per billing period.
We will endeavour to notify you before or when you approach a limit. Persistent attempts to exceed limits may result in throttling or temporary suspension of your Account.
5. Responsible Crawling
Our automated browser instances are configured to behave responsibly when interacting with target websites:
- We respect
robots.txtdirectives where applicable. - We include identifying information in our request headers so site operators can recognise our traffic.
- We apply rate limiting between page requests to avoid overloading target servers.
If a website operator contacts us about unwanted traffic from PersonaQA, we will investigate promptly and may restrict testing against that domain.
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any misuse of the PersonaQA Service, or if you are a website operator receiving unwanted automated traffic from our platform, please report it immediately:
- contact@persona.qa
We take all reports seriously and will investigate within a reasonable timeframe.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate in response to violations of this AUP, including but not limited to:
- Issuing a warning.
- Temporarily suspending your Account or specific features.
- Permanently terminating your Account.
- Restricting testing against specific domains.
- Reporting illegal activity to the relevant authorities.
Where possible, we will provide notice before taking enforcement action, unless immediate action is necessary to protect our Service, users, or third parties.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in accordance with our Terms of Service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
